Red Riding Hood is out in the woods again, this time with a basket of cookies to take to her dad. Along the way she comes across some familiar faces: the Three Bears with three empty bowls, the Three Billy Goats Gruff with three empty bellies…but whose is that shaggy grey tail and that flash of white teeth? Will her dad ever get his lunchtime snack or will the Big Bad Wolf make a meal of Red Riding Hood first?
Kate Clynes’ ingenious adaptation of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ picks up where the traditional tale leaves off. This, however, is a fairy tale with a difference: keep count as Red Riding Hood shares her cookies with her hungry friends and see how many she will have left for her dad. ‘Not Again Red Riding Hood!’ encourages readers to practice numeracy skills as they read along.
