Description
Landry and Sylvinet are twins, called “bessons” in the Berry region. The love that unites them is so strong that Sylvinet becomes sick with jealousy when his brother leaves home to work on a neighboring farm. Little Fadette lives with her grandmother. She is ugly and always poorly dressed with unkempt hair. People think she’s a witch since she knows how to cure people and animals with the herbs she gathers in the countryside.
